Day two in Dubai and it was back to escorting tours, today I was delighted to be having free time in three sights which gives you a real good overview of Dubai

First stop was the beach resort, following a good drive through Dubai with an excellent commentary our guide led us down to the beach for our first stop, I enjoyed a stroll along the promenade and a very delicious mango smoothie at the only beach kiosk that seemed to be open thanks to Ramadan

Stop 2 was the Dubai Mall and Burj Kalifa. We had a good amount of time to explore here and walk through to see the Burj passing the aquarium and waterfall along the way Even though it was Ramadan most of the shops in the malls were open as normal. For once I managed not to shop!

The last stop was the Souk that is part of the iconic Burj Al Arab complex Again we had a really good amount of time to wander round this purpose built Souk. I even sampled a camels milk ice cream – expensive but nice!

All too soon our day in Dubai was over, it was back to the ship where we set sail for our last scheduled port of call in the UAE
