Sydney Blue Mountains & More

Me at the Blue Mountains

I’ve missed a few ports. A combination of posts not loading, rubbish wifi & being busy with classes, I will back track. But moving onto Sydney which was my favourite port to date!

We only discovered we were working on the Blue Mountains Tour that early that morning so it was an absolute treat! Unfortunately when we arrived at Echo Point it was complete fog bound and worse still, the coffee shop had sold out of Lemon Myrtles! So it was a kitKat for breakfast and onto the mountains themselves.

The 3 Sisters

The centre is simply Amazing! The three rides, the steepest railway (really scary), the cable car, steep but brilliant and the amazing gondola gliding over the treetops were all fabulous. There was a short walk at the bottom between the train and the cable car which took you past the old mine and some fabulous tree ferns

We had a couple of hours at the centre, before heading off for the included lunch at the very quaint Mountain Retreat

After lunch, as the fog had cleared we were able to make a quick stop again at Echo point to see the elusive Three Sisters!

Following a fun ride back to the ship my Aussie friend Jen was waiting for me, so off we went to the Opera House as I’d never been and treated ourselves to tickets for the evening performance of The Mirror which was very different but absolutely wonderful

We’d time for a couple of drinks in the Opera Bar before the show and a bite to eat afterwards before heading back to the ship, exhausted, after a brilliant day in Sydney!

But I must not forget Ziggy the Seagull Squadron dog who demonstrated his seagull chasing skills for us – a perfect day
