All at Sea Again

Sunset at Sea

Another stretch of sea days as we sail between Hawaii and Samoa. Though just 5 days in a row this time.

This time we had the added excitement of crossing both the equator and the International Date Line, meaning we completely lost Sunday 5th February as we put our clocks 23 hours forward on Saturday night.

Captain Sharples with ‘Aphrodite’

Before we could cross the equator however, we did of course seek Neptunes permission ceremonially at 3pm on Saturday. I missed most of it as I’d art class but did manage to witness some of the fun and games at the end. The Captain chose not to kiss ‘Aphrodite’ played by the singer from Pulse so he ended up in the pool.

Once Neptune had granted us permission to cross the line, it really didn’t take much persuasion from our entertainment hosts to get him back in the pool. As the girls led a chant of ‘Martin, Martin’ he happily charged down the steps and dive bombed the pool!

Enticing the Captain into the pool

The date change got me completely confused me, the TV being an hour out when we checked it at 4am didn’t help and I accidentally texted my husband at 5.45am UK time saying Samoa was the land of the sacred chicken! We love chickens but it didn’t exactly go down well

We have had art class every day, well attended as always and I’ve been getting acupuncture on the knee which seems to be helping. Last session today so fingers crossed

We have used the old photo gallery to create a permanent art display as there’s so much great talent in class it seems a shame not to show it off. Took a video & just have 3 more sections to fill up – I think it looks great!

Turtles in Watercolour

Other good news is that for the next sector formal nights seem to be reducing to one a week. I do love a formal night but we had a lot and the men weren’t enjoying the heat in a DJ

That’s all folks. I’m off to get needles stuck in me
