If you had to sum up Manzanillo, Mexico in one word, it would be colourful.
It seems like a long time since we were there, six days ago, but crossing the Pacific we knew to expect patchy wifi

Arriving in the busy commercial port in more glorious sunshine, we decided to repeat our previous successful day in Mexico and take a taxi tour, we discovered later that this was the best way for 2 ladies to experience the colourful back streets in the town, as a shopkeeper later advised us not to go walking there and to keep to the main streets

After a drive round the narrow city streets we headed along a busy dual carriageway towards the beach. It was smaller and less impressive than previous ones visited, but shipmates who spent the day there had a really enjoyable time. We passed the hotel where Bridgitte Bardot filmed The Perfect Woman then wound our way up more cobbled streets to the viewpoint or abandoned house, let’s say health and safety weren’t a top priority as there were no markings or barrier at the edge, just a sheer drop! The viewpoint was for sale as a building site and was surrounded by some beautiful houses and gardens

Off to the market next where we sampled some cheese and some traditional Mexican Mole, I’m still not exactly sure what that was, some say you cook with it, others you just eat it – speaking of eating, would you eat or drink the scorpion? They’ve moved on from worms!

Left turns in Mexico were pretty hairy. At the traffic lights you don’t move into the middle of the road, instead you go to the side then wait for the lights, when you then cross over all lanes of traffic to make your turn. Scary!
Back in town we stopped to take some photos of the main Sailfish Sculpture before looking in vain for a coffee shop, there were several places to buy a drink or coffee but no nice sit in coffee shops, so it was a wander round town, some shopping and some more colourful photos before stopping for an ice cream, again no seats, but a convenient park bench sufficed!

It was only a short walk back to Arcadia with more photos along the way. It was lovely to see so many crew off in port, enjoying the easily accessible town before setting off on our 3,000 mile journey across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii
