In the blink of an eye everything changes
A day off in Cozumel. While it’s not my favourite place, tourist trap with overly pushy sales people, all set up for the huge daily influx of cruise passengers, we had the day off and were enjoying a lovely Mum & daughter girly day
I’d never had a fish pedicure, totally loved it and feet felt fantastic afterwards loved the little buzzy vibrations the fish made around my feet, the twenty minutes sitting relaxing was bliss
Heading back to the ship, to freshen up and get something to eat we left our phones on charge
And the rest as they say is history
Oh a missed call or several from Keith, it’s lovely to chat to him while I’m away but normally we do WhatsApp or messenger calls. I didn’t twig something was wrong as I called him back
I knew my beloved father in law was very ill. I’d spoken to him about cancelling my trips and he insisted I go, he liked telling people where I was when he remembered. We spoke to doctors, social workers, health professionals and they all assured us he was not end of life, not at the Macmillan stage and would move to nursing care
Sadly they were wrong
And here I am, thousands of miles from home
And there Keith is, home alone
And we are heart broken

It must be difficult being so far away. Sorry for your loss.
