Jonny’s Gang!

Nobody puts baby (or anybody) in the corner in Jonny’s gang!

Got asked yesterday to write about what made CMV Columbus stand out from the crowd

Well I’ve cruised with most of the mainstream lines and I think they are all really good. Each does what they do brilliantly so if you want ice skating & climbing walls or robotic bars on board there’s a ship for you, but for me Columbus won on the laid back, relaxed atmosphere and the amazing activities offered on board

Sea days were packed with art, craft, creative writing, am dram and quizzes. And that’s just what I went to, I loved zipping between classes stopping for a quick cuppa & cake between amateur dramatics and German art.

And that brings me to the 2 crew members that made the cruise for me. Marika the German Art Tutor who is such a talented artist so keen to share her skills with us and such a gentle, patient person. I learned so much from her and really looked forward to her classes every Sea day. I paint well in my own style so it was great to learn someone else’s style and try subjects I struggle with

Then there was the cruise director, Jonathon Jonny Jon Dulson. Now he was only on for the first week of our trip, and he was great, but that’s not what makes him extra special or what sticks in my mind

It’s the fact that after we were all home he took the time to read and comment on my little blog, that made me feel special and appreciated

Then, as I start my own new journey as an on board art tutor I dropped him a little message. He replied instantly answering my questions, giving me a few tips and wishing me all the best

Now that’s the kind of thing you don’t forget! I’m not sailing with him, not even on a CMV ship but he was more than happy to help. That’s a genuinely nice person and a CMV Cruise Director going the extra mile, so he gets my nomination for the crew star that made by CMV experience extra special

So that’s why CMV was special for me. I’ll definitely sail with them again maybe even one day I’ll be an onboard art tutor there, but in the meantime I’m really looking forward to Iceland with Fred

Sail away…

I was SO pleased to read your comments about the Columbus, especially since you caught the spirit of the growth opportunities for all types of interests so that the sea days were actually something to look forward to. It was like being in a university setting with smiling friends around a table sharing a lifetime of truly living with fellow guests. Nice job of painting a picture with words.
