An odd title, says you, but by the end you’ll be saying ‘Oh, that’s clever’…..possibly.

Firstly, thanks for the congratulations on our ‘haul’ from the World Marmalade Awards. For some reason most people still assume that the boss makes everything. I do like to point out that the 16 WMAs we’ve won have all been made under ‘my watch’.

So, Saturday I says to myself ‘here, what about a wee cycle’…..duly gear (no pun intended) up and head out. A few miles down the road I remember that it was showing 1c on the temp gauge in the car an hour earlier…….it was ⚽️✔️ (geddit?). 7 miles out and it starts to snow. Oh magic, thought I……but with no choice I cycled on. If there were any reports of an abominable snow cyclist in Fermanagh that was probably me. I got home and thawed out….next Wednesday.

So, Sunday I says to myself ‘here, what about building that unit you bought in IKEA’. 3 large boxes, which when I loaded onto the trolley on Thursday I was convinced they would never fit in the van and had been tempted to put them back. They fitted with room to spare. That little van never ceases to amaze me. So, it’s 9am and with the dogs/cats/gerbil fed and watered and I start. There was a total of 516 pieces to assemble. Thinking it would take ‘but a moment’ it in fact took 4 3/4 hours….though to be fair to myself that did include clearing out the old unit and TV/Sky and removing it. And it was supposed to be a two person build….so I’m calling it 2hrs 😉

The more eagle eyed amongst you will note the Santa behind the Sky box. He was left out a few years ago and has just stayed…..on that festive note it’s 40 weeks to Xmas today (Monday)….and I’m already thinking of new Xmas flavours.

Our next door neighbour had a baby girl on Friday morning and was out on Friday evening!!!…..why bother going to hospital??? She was 11 days over her due date. I’ve even bought a card for her. #NappyDays

Anyway……must head off…..did you get the title yet?
