What an adventure! Komodo Island was amazing!

3 hot sea days from Darwin to the Indonesian island of Komodo – scenery was simply spectacular

The pier was more than a little rickety, but men were on hand to haul you up! It was definitely a step back in time

One dragon scurried up the beach as we arrived, followed closely by a security briefing which I largely ignored though I was only told off 3 times for stepping over the line or wandering off

A two hour trek through the jungle later, our guide took it really slow & pointed out everything, we found 4 dragons at the watering hole

Which was less than a 5 minute walk back to the pier! My friends looked to be breathing their last…..

But Jinks revived enough to shimmy up the ladder & onto a little boat for a trip to pink beach

The beach was spectacular, climbing up & down the 4 rung wooden ladder propped up against the side of the boat was fun….

The boat was basic, but great fun, the little Indonesian boat owner, steering, is possibly traumatised for life after I got onto boat a wave caught it& as boat swayed I clamped him in a bear hug! At least we both lived to tell the tale

Back at the pier there were dear on the beach, so of course I had to see them

Ended up beside this guy

But Yoma saved me

Then he asked me if I wanted to see his big one…..

Tide was in so we had to duck & crawl back onto tender! What a day!
