It’s been ‘one of those weeks’…..

The weather hasn’t been too bad at all which has meant that one of the ‘challenges’ I set myself when the boss was away was started and is 90% finished. Just a few more feet to cut and a few more things to the dump and that’s it sorted. Here’s a ‘before’ picture…..

I’ll post an ‘after’ picture errr…..after. It wasn’t without its ‘issues’ mainly to do with bracken. One piece, obviously under some tension, sprung back and cut just above my left eyebrow yesterday. I’m glad it didn’t hit my eye.

Wednesday brought about another issue…..no water. Our main water tank is well hidden in the eaves of the house which necessitated fitting 6’2″ me through a small door and through a 2′ crawl space. Having negotiated that I discovered the tank was bone dry. I ‘diagnosed’ a faulty float valve and rang our plumber….who came out quickly. He’s older than me so when he got himself installed beside the tank I became his apprentice crawling back and forward through the eaves. My legs were agony the next day 😂

I got a phone call on Thursday from a neighbour of my dads saying she thought he wasn’t well. I rang him and it turns out he had fallen out of bed during the night and hadn’t been able to get up. We think he may have had a mini stroke but he won’t go to the doctors. He seems to be a lot better now thankfully but if it continues we’ll have to reassess the situation. He’s 86 next month and lives on his own but he’s happy like that.

Anyway, the boss is somewhere near the Phillipines and should be in Manila tomorrow. Her first job, apparently, is to find a Starbucks…….. Splendid 😀

Another new stockist this week…..So it’s back to making again. G&T already made this morning and it’s off for a bit o’ shopping shortly.

This post has been a bit downbeat…..but hey, that’s life at times.
