Wakened up to find we had dropped anchor outside the small town of Paihia in the Bay of Islands so collected my ticket and took the tender to shore

It was pretty sail in, then a short, free, shuttle bus to the town, I’d a couple of hours to kill before my afternoon rib tour so wandered round the market, then into town for some wifi!

Rib tour was for the more adventurous guest! I was a little nervous, but I needn’t have been & I was one of the ones screaming to go faster…

Black Rock was said to be similar to the Giants Causeway at home, I don’t think they’d been…

But a total highlight was going into the sea cave & seeing the pink rocks

This cool dude sailed along side us for a while before we left him in our wake

Then we finished up with a swim on the beach before he left us into town

Couldn’t resist taking a wee snap

Then back on board for an interesting dinner, I’ll remember not to order Alloo Patak again
