Say what???
It’s a Gold Rush town, an hour & a half out of Melbourne and it’s simply stunning!
And your morning coffee is accompanied by Parrots

To do list…
Walk Annie in the Bush
See a Kangaroo in the wild
By 10am all boxes ticked

That’s the lovely Annie – Australian Sheepdog patiently waiting on us making it up the hill
So what are we going to do now? Our friends expected us to be tired but as we were full of energy we headed off to the local animal park for the full tourist experience with over keen Kangaroos

Lunch by the lake – in the yacht club and check out the lake

It was the rowing venue at the Melbourne Olympics!
If you’ve made it this far, days 1 & 2 were travel days
It’s sort of weird, doing exactly the same things here that hubby is likely doing at home, dog walks, coffee, Ducks & Swans, but that’s the things we enjoy, whatever side of the world we are on
Back in town we made it to the stunning little art gallery, calling at the gold exchange along the way, but as we hadn’t found any nuggets so it didn’t matter that there was nobody there to buy them, though even years later you could practically smell the excitement hanging in the air

The car park slots are numbered & metered. High tech or what? We had 20 minutes left on the clock so we popped down to Craig’s Royal Hotel, which is particularly precious to my friend Sally, and amazingly the very lovely Andrew welcomed us & gave us a tour!

We spent too long chatting & raced back up the hill to the car but thankfully the Car Park Angels had been looking after us today – no ticket!
So home, via the Titanic Memorial, yes really & The Battery or Gold Crush

We stopped at Creswick Lake on the way, spotted some wild Kangaroos & strolled down to the old Doctors house to round off a pretty perfect day, note I didn’t quite ‘stroll’ back up the hill…

Stuffed silly with Sally’s delicious home cooking I’m tucked up in my comfy bed ready for the land of nod….
