Jamaica, up the falls

A girl from Belfast goes up the falls, nothing special there, except this was Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica!

I’d wanted to climb the falls, since I first visited Jamaica when my children were young, my son didn’t want to climb so I stayed with him while my daughter climbed, so for me this was a dream come true.

A couple from the boat had my phone & took some photos for me, let’s just say the climb was tougher than I thought & I Was very glad of the teamwork and boat friends, I’d never have got up without them!

Ocho Rios was my only disappointment of the entire trip.  I loved the colonial style guards

But my memories were of a pretty town, with lovely green spaces & rum stalls, instead it was traffic jams & tiny stalls, jam packed everywhere, selling the same thing

After the long walk to & from the market we stopped for some refreshment of course, a Margarita this time, and as usual got chatting in the bar

Thanks to the guys from Oriana for helping me get online, every time I see that ship I’ll think of them as I hadn’t been able to contact hubby for nearly a week being in Cuba & at sea and they kindly helped me

The guy in the last pic owns a restaurant on the island & I promised to share it with my friends, so here you go

Loved Dunns River Falls, enjoyed a laugh at the bar, but Ocho Rios was way to commercialised for me
