Club Tropicana drinks are free
Fun & sunshine there’s enough for everyone 🎤🎤🎤

Late arrival into Havana meant there was no time to explore before our trip to Club Tropicana
1500 people pack into the arena every night of the week to watch 200 dancers strut their stuff!
Girls are met with a flower, while boys are given a cigar

Strictly speaking allocated drinks during the performance are free, any other drink will cost you 5CUC wether it’s a can of coke or a cocktail – we started our night with Tropicana Specials, which were similar to Strawberry Daiquiri

As the show started we received a glass of ‘champagne’ a litre bottle of rum between 4 and a can of Coke each, which would make for pretty strong rum & cokes!
Singing was all in Spanish, dancing was on the main stage, the side stages and all around the arena with lots to keep the boys and girls happy

I think the story took us through the history of Cuba, there was definitely a section on slavery, you can see the many different skin tones which apparently are due to the various Cuban invaders and the slave trade
Towards the end dancers filled the arena and we had a bit of a boogie

But sadly just as everyone started dancing on the stage our guides insisted that it was time to go, if we’d known how easy it was to get a taxi outside I think a lot of us would have stayed!
The only difference in the $95 dollar tickets is that you are slightly closer to the main stage & this is the area most dancers move through, if I ever wanted to go again I’d do so independently rather than on a ships tour – taxis in Havana are plentiful and you can negotiate a good fare
