High Flying

Started the holiday in style by splashing out on a British Airways upgrade!

The pre take off glass of prosecco was most welcome

As well as wider seats, more leg room & a ‘private’ cabin, our welcome pack contained real headphones, flight socks, eye mask, pen & a toothbrush/toothpaste set

We had complimentary newspapers and there was plenty of space to stretch my toes

On chair monitors were great, I watched Everest (harrowing) The Suffragettes (there were tears) and an episode of Only Fools & Horses to cheer me up!

I love flicking back to the map to see where we are & how the journey is going, it was strange to know we were flying where the Titanic sank, she really was well off course

Meals in the premium cabin are supposed to be better, don’t know what others had but my beef was certainly acceptable, not gourmet but definitely edible, we also had proper cups, wine glasses (and more wine) and a real knife & fork.  Afternoon tea was great too, on an 11 hour flight something in between would have been good

We cleared passport control & customs quickly and easily, that’s another stamp on my passport and it wasn’t long till we were on the beach deer

We caught the ferry to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen and finally reached the Voyager, where a welcome G&T was enjoyed on deck
